Columbus Crew Capos

Proud to represent Nordecke and the world’s greatest team.

[Become a Capo]

We’re Massive and the Whole Stadium Knows

The pounding of the drums. The smoke is so thick you can’t see the pitch. The battle cry that spurs our players through the 98th minute. It’s electric. It’s contagious. It’s the Nordecke.

What is a Nordecke Capo?

We’re loud. We’re rowdy. We’re massive. And we’re all in on game day.

In Italian, “capo” (pronounced KAH-poh) means head, chief, boss, or leader. It usually refers to a leader of a group. As a Columbus Crew Capo, we lead the chants in the Nordecke fan section to rally our players and strike fear in the hearts of the away team.

So How Do I Become a Capo?

Great question! Are you a Nordecke member? Do you volunteer at Tifo Sweats, Banner Hangs, or other Nordecke volunteer opportunities? Do you know the chants? If you answered yes to any (or all!) of these, you’re the perfect candidate! Reach out via the contact button below and we’ll grab your information and talk through next steps.

The Capo Code of Conduct

As a leader on Match Day, you’re agreeing to the following Capo Rules:

  1. No more than 2 capos per stand.
  2. No fowl language or encouragement of fowl language.
  3. Cannot be visibly intoxicated.
  4. Be all in on the team and the environment to make the most massive game day possible.

Capo Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become a Capo?

You become a Capo by joining the Nordecke organization, volunteering at banner hangs, after game clean ups, tifo sweats, and other Nordecke events. Talk to the Match Day Team at gameday@nordecke.com for more information.

Do I have to buy my own megaphone?

No! While we do not provide megaphones, we will always pair you with someone who has a megaphone if you do not have one of your own. However, purchasing a megaphone is helpful to the team, if you’re so inclined. (Plus you can deck it out in stickers, it’s pretty rad).

What other Match Day positions are there?

If being a Capo isn’t your thing there are tons of other ways to still make Match Day massive! Volunteer to hang banners before the game, help put away the banners and flags at the end of games, volunteer at Tifo Sweat, march in the march to the pitches, join us at tailgate, or simply chant from the stands. Everyone’s energy matters on game day!

Can kids be on the stands?

Yes! We love helping your kiddos make Crew memories. Feel free to reach out to the Match Day Team at gameday@nordecke.com to coordinate when your child can safely be on the stands. Please be aware that we typically time kids for the first five or last five of the games.

How do I nominate a guest Capo?

Great question! If you want to see someone on the stand, or have a special guest coming into town, reach out to the Match Day team at gameday@nordecke.com
